Taken while climbing over the rockslide that occurred back in 2008 or 2009. I can’t remember the exact date that we were told but the path was definitely blocked off. We just ignored the signs and walked through anyway. Definitely worth it.

I’m a little disappointed with how the clouds turned out to look so blurry on this one but I absolutely love the colors, regardless. California was a weird place, especially when it came to the landscape, but it sure made for some wicked photos. This one was taken off the side of Highway 1 somewhere in between Santa Cruz and Monetery, looking up from the beach.
Another shot from the Carmel Mission during my last days in California. I would have post this one earlier, but I couldn’t decide which edit I liked better.
Looking at a hotel from inside of Hotel Europa on the other side of Columbus Street in San Francisco, CA.
This was taken down by the ocean in San Francisco near sunset and I really liked how the mountainous part of the picture turned out when I was playing around with some edits. So I cropped it up and now it’s my new timeline cover picture on Facebook. If I ever get around to printing my photos on canvas one day I want to make this one HUGE. like widescreen TV huge.
Clearly I’ve been slacking on keeping this blog updated with posts but that’s okay because I have quite a few good pictures to add to it from the last two months. Like this one. This might be the best HDR photo I’ve ever made. It just looks epic-ly pretty. At least that’s what I think.
It was taken in Carmel, CA at the famous mission there. The place was absolutely gorgeous and I might have a few more photos from the location to upload at a later point.
This is about as bad as my morning commute gets all winter long. For 5-10 minutes I have to wait for the Light Rail high up in the sky and endure the morning breeze in 35 degree weather. I hear it’ll start raining soon, too, so that might make things a little worse.
However, this is nothing compared to what I have been used to for the past 22 years of my Michigan-based life. I’ll happily endure the outside elements of California all winter long for 5-10 minutes each day.
It’s much nicer than the daily Michigan winter grind of freezing cold temperatures, mountains of snow and the unpredictability of car engines in cold weather.
